Founded in 1963 by H. S. "Hub" Finkelstein, The Medallion Group is a privately held business which is the holding company for several businesses across various industries. The Medallion Group is headquartered in Houston, Texas and has businesses, operations, partnerships, and investments around the world.
The origins of The Medallion Group are rooted in the exploration and production of oil and gas. Over the last 40+ years the company has stayed true to its oil and gas roots, while dramatically diversifying the company businesses and investments.
The Company’s strategy has been and will continue to be entrepreneurial and opportunistic as opportunities arise. Our current operating businesses range from the exploration and production of oil and gas, a marine terminal in the Port of Houston, a technology company, and an awning company. Our real estate holdings are located primarily in the United States with some holdings in Australia and include a variety of commercial and residential property types. Our investments and partnerships transcend numerous industries and investment types.

Medallion Oil Company
Medallion Oil Company is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company based in Houston, Texas. Established in 1963, Medallion drilled several of the initial discovery wells in the Lobo Trend Field in south Texas and today owns numerous overriding royalty interests in the area. Medallion's current business objective is to joint venture explore and develop oil and gas prospects as a non-operator.
Manchester Terminal
Manchester Terminal is a private marine terminal that is a United States Coast Guard approved facility. Manchester Terminal offers a unique combination of services. With warehousing, break bulk and container facilities, this premier marine terminal and industrial park readily accommodates light manufacturing and assembly operations, with build out options to suit a variety of tenants.
Medallion Technology
Medallion Technology, LLC was formed in January 1999 with the acquisition of intellectual property from former supercomputer manufacturer Cray Computer Corp. Over last 10+ years Medallion has focused its resources on one technology from the portfolio, this technology is known as the Twisted Wire Interconnect (TWI). With a can do corporate philosophy and a staff of highly knowledgeable advanced packaging and automation engineers, Medallion has perfected the materials, processes and equipment for industry wide acceptance of the TWI.
Marygrove Awnings
Established in 1933, Marygrove Awnings Co has been a resource for the finest awnings, facades, solar shades and patio furniture for homes and businesses. With locations in Michigan, Texas and Ohio and dealers in multiple states Marygrove manufactures everything in-house — from engineering and design to metalwork and fabrication, to cut and sew and printing. We have been the recipient of several international awning design awards.
Medallion Real Estate
Medallion has significant real estate investments and holdings around the world, including direct ownership and as a partner in several ventures. Medallion owns and manages property for long term investment, including a variety of retail, office, industrial and residential properties. Medallion also is an active participant in a variety of real estate investment structures, including equity, debt and alternative arrangements. The Medallion team has significant real estate experience and extensive contacts in the development, financial and brokerage communities.
Medallion Australia
Medallion has engaged in a variety of transactions in Australia, ranging from owning and operating various businesses to oil exploration and production to real estate investment.
Medallion currently focuses on real estate ownership of office and industrial properties, and is involved with the development of a condominium project in an area near downtown Melbourne, Victoria.
Medallion Private Equity
Medallion invests in a variety of transactions, including operating enterprises, traditional equities portfolios, alternative investments, debt and various hybrid transactions. Typically these investments involve debt financings ranging from senior participations to mezzanine positions to bridge loans. Medallion may also take equity positions in traditional ownership vehicles.
